Data Management Officer in Tanzania

Irene Mwoga, the Data Management Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s Office in her native Tanzania, coordinates data experts across UN entities to collect and make sense of data related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Irene supported data inputs for the Common Country Analysis, which underpins the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2022-2027). Through extensive data analysis, Irene identified groups with different priorities – for instance, special requirements of youth and persons with disabilities on economic empowerment, as well as different health needs for those living in the mainland and in Zanzibar archipelago – ensuring that the monitoring framework allows the UN to track its activities against these special needs. She has also helped ensure a focus on data disaggregation to the maximum extent, thereby enabling a consistent overview of the status of vulnerable populations in the country including refugees, migrants, women, girls and persons with disabilities.

Irene performed functions in Tanzania from May 2020 to November 2022.  She currently works as Data Management Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Kuwait.
