Head of Resident Coordinator's Office in Togo
As the Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Togo, Serge Hapo has supported the Resident Coordinator in leading the smooth development of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2026).
He was instrumental in bringing lessons and insights from the evaluation of existing programmes, assuring the inclusion of the prevention approach in the Common Country analysis and guaranteeing the participation of large range of actors in the development of the Cooperation Framework.
Serge’s advocacy efforts led to renovations to make the UN House accessible to people with disabilities, and to increased diversity in the Resident Coordinator Office, as part of wider ambition to ensure that no one is left behind. In fact, efforts are now ongoing to implement a UN-wide disability action plan by all the UN entities in Togo.
Serge also supported the UN country team in saving operational costs of up to half a million USD in 2021, mainly through streamlining existing contracts and administrative processes across the UN. Under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator ad interim, Serge is working to integrate 4 planned UN entities offices in the Region des Savanes into one joint UN Sub-Office, to better support the government initiatives in that particular region and to further reduce operational costs.
