Data, Monitoring and Reporting Officer in Colombia

Luis Canal, the Data Management Officer in Colombia is passionate about telling the story of UN’s collective support to the Government’s ambition to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  He produces an annual report by coordinating with 24 UN entities in the country, showcasing the UN’s collective results based on joint and individual contributions, highlighting the integrated policy and normative support provided to the country through the UN’s programme, the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2020-2023). At the same time, the report also identifies challenges and lessons learned during the year –based on solid evidence and data.  

To make annual reporting easy and streamlined, Luis has provided all UN entities with a standardized single data reporting process, working closely with focal points for programming, monitoring and evaluations across UN entities, providing regular support as needed.  Luis is proud that the report, thanks to the quality data the UN country team collects, has great data visuals which tells compelling stories of UN’s achievements of the year.
