Communications Officer in Sierra Leone

As the Communications Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in his native Sierra Leone, Osman Sankoh focuses on giving visibility to the support of the UN to help advance sustainable development priorities in the country.  

Osman, supported the UN team to prepare the 2021 UN Results Report, which has received acclaim as one of the best annual Results Reports produced by Resident Coordinator Offices around the world. He convened the entire UN team to illustrate the people benefiting from the joint UN-Government interventions to improve people’s lives while protecting the planet. He works alongside the RC Office Data Management Officer to use data as a crucial communications tool, also boosting transparency and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Education: Diploma in Mass Communications and a BA Degree in Sociology from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone respectively and a postgraduate degree qualification in Conflict Transformation from the School for International Training (SIT) Graduate Institute, Brattleboro, Vermont, USA (United States of America).
