Partnerships Officer in Jamaica (MCO)

Maxsalia Salmon is the Partnerships Officer in the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Jamaica, which covers Jamaica, The Bahamas, Bermuda, The Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands. Given the power of partnerships to accelerate the achievement of the 2030 Agenda, Maxsalia has been a central figure in coordinating Jamaica’s signature United Nations Partnership Forum Initiative, an annual platform convened by the UN to bring stakeholders together to discussed and build networks to address community and national development issues. Over two years, it has already engaged over 10,000 local and international partners and audiences across several platforms. This Forum has greatly influenced the subsequent hosting of the inaugural Forum in The Bahamas (2022). Such fora have also informed the Maxsalia’s work supporting the UN’s Partnership Landscape Assessment for Jamaica and the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Strategy. This momentum towards more coherent and collaborative approaches within the UN and with external stakeholders is also seen in the establishment of an International Development Partners Forum, as a meeting space for multilateral and bilateral partners in Jamaica and The Bahamas to coordinate development agendas. Maxsalia is supporting its technical working groups, for instance the Gender Equality Coordination Group launched in June 2022, as an important contribution to leverage greater political, technical and financial support to advance gender equality in Jamaica.
