Head of Resident Coordinator's Office in the Maldives

Meet Huda Adam, Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office in her country Maldives, who supports the Resident Coordinator and the UN country team in efforts led by the national Government to address their development challenges, as a middle-income, Small Island Developing State (SIDS).

She spearheaded the formulation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2022-2026 which is backed by rigorous Common Country Assessment and the most extensive consultation process the UN Maldives have undertaken so far, with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders from the Government, youth, local councils and Women’s Development Committees, organizations for persons with disabilities, migrants, civil society organisations, private sector, and development partners.

She was instrumental in connecting the two processes to operationalize the Cooperation Framework: Multi-Year Funding Framework and Joint Work Plan formulation.  Thanks to this, she ensured that both processes reinforce each other, reduce duplication and provided an optimal forum for all UN entities signatory to the Cooperation Framework to meaningfully engage in the initial stage of Cooperation Framework implementation.
