Data Management Officer in Kosovo

Meet Yllka Pllana, the Data Management Officer in the Development Coordinator’s Office in Kosovo[1] helping connect data experts from within and beyond the UN to improve the data ecosystem in Kosovo to monitor their progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Yllka helped coordinate the production of the Kosovo Report on SDGs and its action plan, by bringing together the Sustainable Development Council within Kosovo Assembly, Prime Minister’s Strategic Planning Office, Agency of Statistics, and UN entities. The report became the main reference point for SDG incorporation in the National Development Strategy 2030 and into sectoral and other planning documents and institution-wide coordination mechanism on SDGs.  It has also created momentum for the development of a dashboard to monitor SDG progress.

Yllka is also supporting the UN Kosovo Team in engaging the Sustainable Development Council of Kosovo Assembly, Agency of Statistics and UN Entities to develop an SDG Hub, which would provide data to improve parliamentary oversight on government progress towards the National Development Strategy 2030 and SDGs. In her every day work she leads the coordination among UN Kosovo Team for planning, monitoring, and reporting of UN’s joint programme in UN INFO, the UN-wide joint programming and monitoring platform.
