Coordinating and localizing sustainable development cooperation in Georgia

Through the Resident Coordinator’s convening power, the UN country team has leveraged multi-disciplinary expertise to provide cross-sectoral policy advice and innovative solutions in support of national efforts on disability-, youth- and women-inclusive processes, including for example with the latest promotion of telemedicine and digital health services.

The Resident Coordinator has not only brought together UN agencies, funds and programmes, but also development partners, including representatives of financial institutions and partner Governments, therefore serving as the key coordinator for all development cooperation efforts in the country.

The Resident Coordinator has also actively supported efforts to localize the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2021-2025) through extensive visits and dialogues with municipal authorities and civil society to bring decision-making and services closer to the needs and priorities of each region in Georgia.
