Meet Virgilio Ela Motu Mangue, the Communications Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Equatorial Guinea.

Virgilio Ela’s role focuses on communicating the work of the UN in Equatorial Guinea and strengthening its image as a key partner in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, promoter of peace, and defender of human rights and a healthy planet. By crafting messages of hope and resilience, Virgilio Ela helps the UN country team reach more people and communities across Equatorial Guinea, with a particular focus on young people, women and girls and vulnerable groups

In 2022, during the celebration of UN Day, Virgilio organized a photography exhibition to showcase the work of the UN in the country to the Government, the media, NGOs, diplomats, youth and vulnerable groups.  Thanks to the success of this initial exhibition the Resident Coordinator and the UN country team will exhibit the photographs in all cultural centers across the country starting in January 2023, reaching nearly 500, 000 people with compelling visual story telling.
